Peace of Mind
Since you're hiring a DJ & Emcee for your event, it's likely pretty important to you. It's not a time to roll the dice. For your event, we'll always have back-up equipment at the ready, and for many events, a second Disc Jockey on hand.
For the protection of guests, as well as the property, we carry a one million dollar liability insurance policy underwritten by the top rated insurance carrier in the country for mobile entertainers. Many venues require this in the Facility Rental Agreement or Facility Use Agreement, also requesting proof of the venue's addition directly to the DJ's policy. We're happy to add your venue to our policy, and provide a certificate of proof in preparation for your event.
On a personal note
I'm also married to the love of my life and have 2 beautiful, super intelligent, creative children :). I love my job, being a part of a couple's biggest day, and helping them shape it just how they envision. I get something positive out of it, warm fuzzies if you will ;). I love to see smiling people having fun, making memories and dancing. It's not only a huge bonus, but I'm inherently reliant on it. The success of your event, is pivotal to the success of my business.
The best way to gauge whether or not a DJ or DJ Company will be in-line with your own tastes, is to meet with the DJ who would actually be working at your event. That would be me personally.
About My Style
I believe that there are many different "DJ types" in the world, and right here in Central New York for that matter. Finding a good match is paramount to a fun and memorable reception. You can expect great music selection to keep your guests having fun, and a polished, prepared, and confident Master of Ceremonies from CNY Select DJs.
I don't make unnecessary announcements, I try to keep a low profile and my focus is always keeping the spotlight on our guest(s) of honor.
My guiding principle: It's all about you.
An interesting short story (that ended up long!)
For the last 2 days, I met with 2 very different couples at Dunkin Donuts (mmm coffee), and for 2 days in a row, 2 brides-to-be sat in the same exact seat and did an impromptu (unsolicited) impression of the DJ they DON'T want at their Wedding. Their musical tastes were night and day, and their personalities nothing alike either... But they both kind of raised one eyebrow, made a cheesy smile, pretended to hold a microphone, pointed with their thumb up and did their best radio voice, head moving like a bobble-head. It was quite funny really :) .
If there's one thing I'd like you to take from this "About Me" page, it's that I am not that guy. He may be a perfect gentleman, and a veteran DJ who's done 1000's of weddings whom I respect as a colleague, but we are 2 very distinctly different DJ's. For a day as important as your wedding, be sure you specifically talk to and meet exactly who will be showing up to DJ, announce, and interact with your guests. :)
